Health Care
The public health spending experienced a significant growth of 56.8% in the fiscal year 2022, compared to the previous fiscal year of 2021, where it was recorded at Rs. 586,270 million. The expenditure accounted for 1.4% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the fiscal year 2022, in contrast to 1% during the corresponding time in the previous year.

Number of Health Facilities
There has been a consistent upward trend in the expansion of physical infrastructure and workforce within the realm of public health activities. The national health infrastructure consists of 1201 hospitals, 5518 Basic Health Units, 683 Rural Health Centres, 5802 Dispensaries, 731 Maternity & Child Health Centres, and 347 TB centres. The combined capacity of beds in these health facilities is estimated to be 123394. Furthermore, it is worth noting that a substantial number exceeding 95,000 Lady Health Workers are actively engaged in delivering essential primary healthcare services to the local population via the designated health houses.
Ratios
